Like the 8867, the 8878 is the ultimate tool for locating metallic utilities. Expanded features include a Backlight, Pinpoint Peak, Improved Induction Capabilities, and automatic impedance matching. Push-button depth, current measurement, and digital display are also included.
The 8878 can also double as a fault locator with the addition of an A-frame. The 8878 'D'-cell unit includes the receiver, transmitter, carrying cases, training video, batteries, ground rod and 10-foot test leads. The 8878 rechargeable unit includes the receiver, transmitter, carrying cases, training video, batteries, ground rod, 10-foot test leads, and comes with both an A/C charger and a D/C charger.
