3M FIBRLOK 2599 CONNECTORS PRICE IS PER EACH CONNECTOR- SOLD IN PACKS OF 5 This splice requires two 900 micron coated fibers.
3M mechanical splices are as follows:
2525 - 250 micron coatings only.
2590 - one 250 micron coating and one 900 micron coating.
2599 - 900 micron coatings only.
2529 - 250 or 900 micron coatings - universal.
The 3M Mechanical Spice can be used with either single-mode or multimode fibers with a glass cladding diameter of 125 microns. The assembly requires only the removal of the fiber coating, and cleaning and cleaving of the fiber. The 2501 Assembly Tool turns any crafts person into a splicing expert. The splice needs no epoxy and electricity and installation time is within 3 minutes.
